I’ve watched “The Rookie” since its first season. It’s always been multilayered, which makes it more compelling. I read that Titus Makin, Jr, the actor who plays Jackson, considered leaving the show, but writers conceded to write a plot about racism in the police department, which swayed him to stay.

I am sad, though, about the circumstances of Afton Williamson departure from the show. She deserved better treatment. 😔
